Day 7 of 30
Walking in the Light
Walk
1 John 1:5-2:2
1:5-7. God is light. If we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
1:8-10. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2:1-2. John writes so that we will not sin. If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father.
Take with you
Both halves belong together: the call not to sin and the Advocate when we do.
A passage Professor Gary S. Maxey draws on in his teaching.
