We Cannot Make Ourselves Pure

Paul urges believers to cleanse themselves. Professor Maxey says this does not mean we are the main agent. He reminds us of the synergy of grace. We respond, we humble ourselves, we surrender. But the cleansing is God's work, received by faith. We are helpless, and that is where he begins.
